Ruth is a Director and Visual Artist with a background in both Animation and Fine art. After studying Fine Art at UWE Bristol, she went on to complete a Post Graduate in Animation at Central St Martins. Her early career led her into children’s television having worked as a previz artists and animator on family favourites, including The All New Captain Scarlet, the Norwegian Cult film, Slipp Jimmy Fri, as well as The Secret Show and the Academy Award winning short Peter and the Wolf. With these under her belt, she embarked on her directing career where she has spent the last 15 years directing on shows for Disney Junior, Universal Kids, Sky Kids, Milkshake, CBeebies, & CBBC. Ruth was also Series Director on the award-winning Super Happy Magic Forest.
When she is not directing children’s TV (or being nominated for awards) she makes avant-garde short films and is an exhibiting artist.
