Richie Conroy is an award-winning comedy and drama writer from Kildare, Ireland. He has worked as a freelance writer for over 15 years on television series and feature films. Some of Richie’s recent credits include the Two by Two feature films, Malory Towers, a lavish BBC adaptation of the much-loved Enid Blyton books, and Fran: Assistant Manager, a mockumentary series which he also directed. Richie has also worked in editorial roles including as executive editor of TG4’s flagship soap opera Ros na Rún.
Richie is a published author of novels, short stories and picturebooks and was the Writer-in-Residence in Dublin City University 2021. He is a member of the Arts Council’s peer panel.

The Diary of Emily Porter: An Jailtacht (LeabhairCOMHAR) is a comedic novel for YA published in 2018 and launched at the Dalkey Book Festival. It was nominated for The Great Reads Award 2018. The sequel, Dialann Emily Porter: Thíos Seal Thuas Seal, was published in 2021 and won first prize at the Oireachtas Literary Awards and was nominated for The Oireachtas Young People’s Book of the Year 2022. The final book in the trilogy is due for publication in 2024.
