Katie Davies is a script/story consultant and writer with nearly twenty years’ experience in animation and live action, children’s and grown-up telly.
Born and raised on a farm near Birmingham, but now happily residing in Ireland, Katie is proud to straddle the Irish Sea on many of her projects. Having cut her story teeth in Carrigstown on the beloved soap opera Fair City, she took her first steps into animation on the BAFTA-winning second series of Roy (JAM Media) and went on to script edit series three and four. After taking some time out to introduce three more young telly-watchers to the world, Katie has worked on animated fan favourites such as Sir Mouse (Salty Dog), The Wee Littles (Magpie6 Media), Fia’s Fairies and The Scavengers (Little Moon Animation).
Katie has also made a name for herself in the world of live action comedy drama having script produced three series of the surreal and entertaining Nova Jones (JAM Media for CBBC), two series of the highly popular and successful IFTA-nominated dramedy Faithless (Grand Pictures for Virgin Media and BBC NI) and script editing season one of the darkly comedic Gen-Z cult classic, Video Nasty (Deadpan Pictures for Virgin Media and BBC Three).
As a writer, Katie has written scripts for The Wee Littles (Magpie6Media) and has a number of episodes due to be aired in 2025 on the hotly anticipated new CBeebies bedtime hour series, BeddyByes (JAM Media).
Almost everything Katie has worked on has been commissioned again.
Katie is passionate about imaginative story-telling and pulling together diverse and inclusive teams of writers whenever possible. She likes to encourage and support new talent, believing in always paying forwards. Katie puts her head, heart and soul into all her collaborations. She also has a great sense of humour!
