Pre-School, 6+, Head Writer, Series Developer
Kate Scott is a head writer, scriptwriter, playwright, poet and award-winning children’s author. She was the head writer on the forthcoming 50-episode animation series Happy Town, narrated by Mel B. (Sky Kids) and was the script editor on the second series of The Hive (Disney) and the live-action show Dog Years. She also was the script editor for the film The Christmas Letter (narrated by Kate Winslet). Her children’s television writing credits include Chip and Potato, Superbuilders, Big and Small, Chuggington, Toot the Tiny Tugboat, The Hive, Minibods and Tulipop. Recent projects include developing a show to commissioned status with CBeebies with Blue Zoo and writing the script for one of the Big Picture Shows at Imperial War Museum North.
She is currently the head writer for a new international animation series of 26 x 5″ and acting as a Script Consultant on two 30-minute animation specials for another international brand. Kate’s stage plays have been performed in the Salisbury Fringe Festival, the Salisbury Playhouse Studio and the Pleasance Theatre, London. Her new play, Eat, will have two rehearsed-reading performances in 2025. Her radio plays have been long- and shortlisted for various prizes, including the Nick Darke Award. She is also a published poet regularly heard on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Poetry Please’ and has had two short stories produced for radio. Her children’s books have won awards and been translated into several languages. Her book writing is represented by Eve White Literary Agency.
