Pre-School, 6+, 10+, Film, Head Writers, Series Developers
Collaborators since the Footlights at Cambridge, J&K have written on some of the world’s most loved animated TV shows, including Zodiak’s ‘Totally Spies‘, Disney’s ‘Kiya and the Kimoja Heroes‘, Disney’s ‘101 Dalmatian Street‘, ‘Casper’s Scare School‘, ‘Thomas the Tank Engine‘ and ‘Angelina Ballerina‘, moving more recently into YA comedy drama with BBC and Zodiak’s ‘Flatmates‘ (which held the No 1 spot on BBC iPlayer for 11-15 year olds summer 2019). They have one animated feature film, ‘The Hero of Color City‘, under their belts (voiced by Christina Ricci and Owen Wilson, directed by Shark Tale’s Frank Gladstone and distributed theatrically in the US by Magnolia) and two family feature films in development: ‘Grisella‘ (a book adaptation to screen) and ‘Cow on the Run‘ (supported by the Bavarian Film Fund and awarded the maximum development fund from MEDIA).
With a strong eye for action and comedy, and a passion for creating inspiring role models for girls, J&K are experienced content creators with an expanding slate of original ideas (they’ve worked on their own projects with Disney and Channel X). But they also thrive in the writers’ room, relish the challenge of adapting books to screen (and translating French to English and vice versa!), and their work on bibles and pilot scripts has helped take projects over the commissioning line with the likes of Cartoon Network and Netflix.
From 101 dotty dogs and cows on the run to teen hangovers and menstrual nightmares, they’ll tackle any situation no matter how furry or awkward…
Additionally, Kirsty is an experienced producer trained at UCLA in Los Angeles, Bristol University’s post-graduate Media School, the Eric Pommer Institute and MEDIA’S EAVE Programme. Her work includes comedy pilots for Working Title TV, live TV shows for HTV and United Artists Communications, festival-winning short films, branding commercials, theatre events (www.WordTheatre.com), and, through her independent production company Gritstone Entertainment, the development of feature films including ‘Subbuteo Man‘ with Hasbro.
