Carol Walsh is a Dublin-based writer who got her start as a storyliner on the long-running RTÉ soap, FAIR CITY. Here, she contributed to the story team for several years and was also the scriptwriter for three episodes over 2015/ 2016.
In 2016, Carol won the Funny Women Comedy Writing Award and was prompted to move more towards her passions: comedy and children’s content. In 2018 she was selected to be part of the BBC Writersroom 2018 Comedy Room.
On the children’s side she has recently written on, DODO (Wildseed/Sky), GOAT GIRL (Daily Madness/Cartoon Network), FIA’S FAIRIES (Little Moon/RTE) and FLIX (Avalon Films/RTE), PABLO: BOY MEETS SCHOOL (Paper Owl Films/CBBC), ZOG (Magic Light/CBBC), ODD SQUAD (CBBC), HIGH HOOPS (Can Can/CBBC). Carol served as head writer and creator on the brilliant live action teen comedy drama LOUISE LIVES LARGE for Tailored Films and RTE which aired in 2024 and has a new live action teen series in development with Tri Moon Films.
She has recently worked on new development projects with Jam Media, BBC Studios Kids & Family, and book adaptations for King Bert Productions (preschool animation) and Salt Beef TV (YA live action comedy). She’s had feature film commissions from Little Moon Animation, and recently developed a YA animated series with Nexus Studios and a streamer.
On the adult side, Carol has developed original sitcoms and comedy dramas with The Comedy Unit, Can Can Productions, Hat Trick Productions, Channel 4 and Netflix. Carol currently has a new comedies in development with Hat Trick Productions and Tailored Films.
